To ensure your document is legally valid and your session goes smoothly, please complete this checklist:

Prepare Your Identity Documents

  • Valid Photo ID: You must have your original, physical Government-issued Photo ID (e.g., BC Driver’s License, BCID, or Passport).
  • No Photocopies: Digital copies or photos of your ID on another phone are not accepted by law.
  • Match the Name: Ensure the name on your ID matches the name on the document exactly.

Technical Requirements

  • PDF Format: Ensure your document is saved as a PDF. (We cannot process Word docs or JPGs).
  • Camera & Mic: You must use a device with a working camera and microphone.
  • Browser: We recommend using the latest version of Google Chrome or Safari for the best Daily.co video experience.
  • Stable Internet: Ensure you have a steady connection to avoid call drops during the signing process.

The Signing Process

  • Do Not Sign Yet: Your document must be unsigned. You must sign it live via Dropbox Sign during the video call so the Notary can witness it.
  • Be Alone: For legal privacy and "undue influence" rules, ensure you are in a quiet, private room for the duration of the call.

Post-Session Download

  • Immediate Download: Your signed document will be available for download immediately after the session.
  • Limited Storage: For your security, we do not store documents long-term. Please download and save your file to your personal computer or cloud storage right away.
